Usually breakfast is an egg, boiled while I was getting dressed or a cracker with a slice of cheese or with some sort of spread. But when I do have time for breakfast… I’ll go all out.
Smoothie bowls. I would describe them as a posh fruit ‘n dairy. It’s basically –you might have guessed it- a smoothie base topped with fruits, nuts, seeds, muesli or granola. Anything you like. Plus side is that you take in a lot of extra fruit. And let’s face it, with winter on our doorstep a little extra source of vitamins are surely welcome. Best of all is that you can create a lovely colourful and vibrant little bowl.
Have to say that it’s been a while since I posted it on Instagram but I reckoned it also belongs on the blog. If you want you can easily replace the fruits and nuts by stuff you like better. Also I like to use quark but you can use yogurt too. Whether it’s a Greek or soy variant.
- Strawberries, halved
- Kiwi, peeled and sliced
- First blend a small handful of strawberries in to a smooth liquid.
- Mix this with 2-3 heaped tablespoons of quark in a bowl.
- Place other ingredients on top.
