Oh, Van Stapele. If the wind is just about right, I can smell the scent of their freshly baked cookies from halfway down the square.
There's no use trying to resist the scent. It's pure temptation. The shop is squeezed just of the Spui in Amsterdam Centre. The cookie bakery sells only one sort of cookie, crispy dark chocolate on the outside hiding a soft molten white chocolate center. Need I say more? They're best eaten when still warm.
The chances of having a warm Van Stapele is rather big, they bake their cookies all day during opening hours. Getting a cookie has become a tradition for the BF and me. Visiting the city center is just not complete if we haven't been there.
